New Jersey - The Mystery Shirts. “50 States of Freaky!” Vol. 30

New Jersey - The Mystery Shirts. “50 States of Freaky!” Vol. 30

Be sure you’re all caught up with this series! “50 States of Freaky”

———-

Shirts. We’re talking about shirts today. You know, when I saw that the next stop in our tour of the 50 states was New Jersey, I thought we’d be talking about the Jersey Devil. But as we all know, clean dress shirts are leaps and bounds more frightening than a horse-headed, winged devil monster that eats people. So let’s get off Route 70 over in Brick, New Jersey and head into a swamp where back on October 17th, 1999 (or close to that date) something weird happened. It was discovered that someone had nailed 17 men’s dress shirts to a small group of dead trees. The shirts were 20 feet up, were all white and perfectly clean and pressed. Twelve days later, 12 more shirts were discovered in the same area, bring the total to 29 shirts. To this day, no one knows who hung the shirts up on the trees or why they did so.

Oooo, the shirts! They mean…nothing. Seriously, what was the point of that? I feel like I just read a story that was suppose to be creepy and scary, but it had no kicker. That would be like watching ‘The Decent’ and the movie ends just as you’re about to see the monsters. And not surprisingly, there’s about no information on this incident. So did it happen? Possibly. Does it matter if it did? In my opinion, no. This sounds like it was someone’s poor attempt at trying to scare locals by nails shirts to trees. But now it’s time for today’s question! Which do you prefer to wear, plain shirts or shirts with words/pictures on them? (That’s the best shirt related question I could think of)
